Autumn Finally, Nano November, Daredevil Prince Two Princes Paperback
It’s finally autumn for real, after a summer that stretched on for far too long where I live. I’m enjoying the cooler days and looking forward to the temperature going down even further.
I’m doing “Nanowrimo” again, with the name in quotes, because it’s actually a new iteration of Nanowrimo. Nanowrimo closed its doors earlier this year, but now there’s a new entity calling itself Nano 2.0, started by original founder Chris Baty.
The funny thing is - there’s not much to this Nano 2.0, but I’m finding it doesn’t matter. There are no forums on the site, there’s no in-person meetups, nothing like that. There’s not even a word count tracker. I’m using Track Bear to keep my word count.
What there is, is some basic information on novel writing, a brief history of Nanowrimo, and a blog. That’s pretty much it. You can sign up for their email newsletter. I think they’ve only sent out four so far, and November is already more than half over. ;-0!
Despite being threadbare in terms of content, the Nano 2.0 site did its job as far as I was concerned. I was on the fence about doing another Nanowrimo-style 50,000 word challenge this month, but even the small resurgence of the Nano founder and his desire to create at least a somewhat similar organization to the original one made me realize how much I wanted to do this again.
So, what am I writing? I’m writing the first draft of I Woke Up in Another Life as a Hellraising Daredevil Prince of a Fairy Kingdom, the isekai story that Jake and Shin play the protagonist in, in the Daredevil Prince universe. I managed to do some outlining before November 1st, so I launched into the draft at the start of the month.
I’ve kept up my word count, doing a little over par each day, so as of the end of day yesterday, November 22, I was at 38,007 words, which is on track to draft over 50,000 words by the end of the month.
I’d thought these would be short novels like the Daredevil Prince books, but I’m finding there’s more to the overall story. Volume I will probably be around 55,000 words or so, if I’m gauging this correctly. So I’ll be drafting into December to finish it.
The professional artist I hired to do the cover art is working on the composition right now. She’s already created the character designs, and they’re just wonderful. I am so in love with them. The final art should be done in January and I’ll post it here.
And finally, the Daredevil Prince The Two Princes paperback is now available on Amazon! Check it out at the following link.

Have a good rest of November, and I’ll update again next month. :-)
