Editing Stories, Camp Nanowrimo, and GayRomLit

Hard to believe it’s almost spring! This month (and last month) I’ve been editing three short stories that I wrote during Nanowrimo last year. My goal is to get these submitted to publishers by the end of the month.

Otherwise, I’ve been mulling over some story ideas, and I think I’m going to take advantage of Camp Nanowrimo in April to draft them. Camp Nanowrimo is the off-season version of regular Nanowrimo. It runs in April and June each year, and you can set a word goal of less than 50,000 if you want to. I like the structure that the Nanowrimo months provide, and in the past I’ve really gotten a lot of drafting done in those months.

In other news, I’ll be at GayRomLit again this year. It’s being held Sept. 4-7 in Olathe, a suburb of Kansas City. I’m a spotlight author this time so I’ll be on one of the panels. In 2025, GRL will just be a two-day event instead of the 4-5 days we’ve been used to. I’m not sure I’ll be at next year’s retreat, so I really wanted to attend this year. I hope to see you all there. :-)

I am slowly getting my books up on new (new to me) non-Amazon platforms. For example, The Female Gaze is now available on the Google Play Books website. It’s been a slow process since I’ve been concentrating on editing those short stories instead... hopefully I’ll clear the decks by month’s end and upload the rest of the books a little faster.

That’s it for now... will update again soon. And happy spring! The equinox is tomorrow.
